Hmm....it's been a long time since I've been here. I'm a junior now, so I guess I don't really need to be doing this anymore, but I feel like sharing today.
So when I went to music camp this summer, I had to learn the viola. We were playing this piece. It's far from the easiest piece to learn viola on, but it was well worth it.
This piece, the Schubert Cello quintet, one of the last pieces written by Schubert, transcends the sublime. It is one of the most beautiful pieces of music ever written in the long history of music. Even if you don't listen to classical music, I implore you to make an exception for this cello quintet. You won't be disappointed. Trust me, it's 40 minutes well spent! (Or you could just listen to one movement at a time, that works too, but if you can spare 40 minutes...)I could go on exalting this piece, but it's best that you listen yourself. I hope that I'll get a chance to play this again someday.
(As a side note: If you have seen "The Conspiracy", I haven't, you might recognize part of the second movement.)
For those who are listening to this quintet for the first time, I envy you. So, without further adieu:

Hello note.
Hi, welcome to the clocktower. I'm Alex. Here's my "This I believe" Podcast by the way if anyone is wondering why it's not in my sidebar (was it supposed to be?):
